Founder & President
Jen is President of Irie Capital Corporation. Prior to founding Irie Capital, she was a Consultant at KPMG, where she focused on helping clients leverage the power of business and private capital towards initiatives that generate positive financial returns and social impact. Jen has worked in both Canada and the U.S in consumer goods, business consulting, and non profit roles.
She has her Master's of Business Administration with a major in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability from Simmons College in Boston, and her Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a major in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Dalhousie University.
She is a Director on the McCain Foods Canada Corporate Foundation Board, Board Director at Kennebec Investments Inc. and Board Director at Canada's National Ballet School. In addition to her volunteer work at NBS, Jen also serves as a volunteer for Save our Scruff; a Toronto based dog rescue. She is a Human Right's Watch LGBT Global Circle Member; is a member of Nexus, a community of young investors, social entrepreneurs, and philanthropists; and a member of the Next Gen Leaders Council of the ImPact, an organization dedicated to helping families improve the social impact of their investments.
Scott McCain is president of JSM Capital Corporation, a private investment holding corporation.
In 2014, Mr.McCain retired as president and Chief Operating Officer of the Agribusiness Group at Maple Leaf Foods Inc., a role he held since 1999. From 1995 to 1999 he was Executive Vice President at Maple Leaf Foods.
Prior to joining Maple Leaf Foods, Mr. McCain was Vice President of Production, McCain Foods Limited in Canada. Mr. McCain joined McCain Foods in 1978 where he held progressively senior positions in manufacturing and operations.
Mr. McCain holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Mount Allison University (1978).
He is a director of McCain Foods Group Inc., McCain Foods Limited, SeaFort Capital Inc., Atlantic Institute for Market Studies, Saint John Major Hockey Club Limited and the Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation Inc.
Michael has been a valued and trusted retailer and wholesaler for over 25 years. In both Executive and Consultant roles, Michael brings a high energy, people and profit focus, to deliver improved shareholder value. Michael has the ability to move from strategic to operational easily, without losing sight of the prize. Michael has been involved in transformative business situations in Canada, the United States, and in the United Kingdom.
He has enjoyed being involved with many organization that have included; PWC Karabus Retail Consultants, NRDC, Wholesale Sports Stores, Bata Shoe Organization, Hudson's Bay Company, Mark & Spender, Tip Top Tailors, amongst them.
Michael also serves on the board of a Non-Profit Dance Company, and has been active with The Heart & Stroke, and Children's Wish Organizations.
